This dialogue explores popular craft from Esquipulas Guatemala, where they use the gusanos or the toquillas as ways to decorate mostly public transportation buses. 

Based on this inspiration - we partnered with a group of artisans who performed this craft in Esquipulas in Guatemala. Each gusano is made with Maguey a natural fiber that is sourced locally. The raw material is hand dyed and sun dried. 

We have created La Toquilla Chair as a means to explore and incorporate a modern no functional chair with the use of this craft, and how transformation takes place to keep exploring the technique and ways to innovate and create new ways of income.
